Our family has been in funeral service since 1933. Today, second and third generation funeral directors continue the family tradition. Arve Grimsmo, was born in Norway and immigrated to the United States in 1950. He attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science Program in 1961, and then joined his father in law Harold T. Peterson in the family business. Arve and his wife Jean have lived in Monticello for fifty years, have two grown daughters, and four grandchildren.

Roger Carlson (son in law of Arve and Jean Grimsmo) graduated from the U of M Mortuary Science Program in 1985. Roger grew up in Monticello, and has lived here all of his life. Roger and his wife Sonja have two daughters.

Keith Bergerson, a native of Monticello, graduated from the U of M Mortuary Science Program in 1977 and has been with the chapel since that time. Keith and his wife Mari have three grown children.

Our family has been privileged to provide funeral services to this community for the past 73 years. Our attention to family's wishes and desires, along with our personal care to the details of the funeral service, have provided residents of the area with a tradition of funeral service in which they can place their trust.
