Marie Casey

Marie (Poehler) Casey, age 58, died suddenly on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the University of Minnesota Hospital. Her family was with her from Saturday evening into her final hours.

Marie was born on October 15, 1960 in New Ulm to Harold and Betty Poehler. Marie had a passion for animals and an absolute fierce love for her family. She was her happiest when she had them by her side.

In 1979, Marie graduated from Richfield high school. Marie married Daniel Casey on June 4, 1989. The true joys of her life were her children. She would move heaven and earth for them. There was nothing more important to her than her family's happiness.

Marie worked as a lunch lady at the Monticello school district for over 18 years. Any person she worked with would say she was the most reliable person you could meet. She was never too busy to lend a helping hand.

Marie is survived by her husband, Daniel Casey; 3 children, Jay Grant, Cory Casey and Shayla (Casey) Benson; parents, Harold and Betty Poehler; siblings, Loren Poehler, Kevin Poehler, and Vicki (Poehler) Osier; and four grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Brian; and sister, Kathy.

Funeral service Saturday, May 18, at 1PM with visitation beginning at 11AM at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 E Broadway, Monticello.
