Andrew “Andy” Skoriuchow, age 65 of Big Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. He was born in Staten Island, NY, on February 11, 1960.
Andy graduated from McKee Vocational Tech in Staten Island with the class of 1978. He proudly served in the US Air Force, working as a high-power lineman. He worked as a communications electrician with the New York City Fire department, and as the Service Manager for over 20 years at Berne Scale Co in St. Louis Park, MN.
He was a man who loved life, whether he was out fishing, tending to his garden, scuba diving, or simply spending time at his camper surrounded by family and friends. Above all, Andy cherished his family. His goofy personality and infectious sense of humor will be missed. Andy’s outgoing personality allowed him to meet and make numerous friends, always being there with a helping hand from snow blowing and mowing, to making dinner.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vitaly and Ruth Skoriuchow; brother, Victor Skoriuchow; beloved canine companion, Zeus and furry feline Mitzy.
Andy is survived by his loving wife, LeeAnn Skoriuchow; children, Amber Hermes, Shanna Skoriuchow, Alexia Skoriuchow, Bryce Vieths, Logan Vieths, Macy Vieths; bonus children, Stephen Vieths, Cory Vieths; grandchildren, Zoe, Kaiden, Aubrey, Grayson, Weston, and 6 bonus grandchildren; siblings, Michael Skoriuchow, Natasha Skoriuchow, Dmitriy Skoriuchow; and many other family and numerous friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Andy’s family.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 1:30 PM, with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM, at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 E Broadway St, Monticello, MN. A reception will follow at 3:30 PM at the Monticello American Legion Post 260, 304 Elm St, Monticello, MN.
