Audrey Ann (Meintsma) Ellison

Audrey Ann Ellison (Meintsma), age 96 of Rogers, MN, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024.

She was born on a farm south of Monticello in April 1928, to Henry and Pearl (Louisiana) Meintsma.  She attended both Buffalo and Monticello schools.  After graduation from Monticello High School, she attended St. Cloud Teachers College earning a degree in elementary education.

She married Glen Allen in 1951 and became a widow in 1953 with the loss of Glen (MIA) after being shot down in the Korean War.  She married Everette Ellison of Monticello in 1958.  They were married for 39 years before his passing in1998.  After their marriage they moved to northern California then on to southern Colorado, returning to Monticello in 1979.  She had a beautiful soprano voice and enjoyed singing.  She sang solos and was a member of many choirs.  Her happiest times with family and church fellowship.  Audrey was a life-long active member of the Monticello Community United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Allen; second husband, Everette Ellison; her parents and two brothers.

Audrey is survived by her children, Carol (Larry) Schnack and Mark (Christine) Ellison; grandchildren, Michael (partner Kirsten) Schnack and Carley (Matt) Schafer.

Visitation and funeral service will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Community United Methodist Church (9225 Jason Avenue NE, Monticello, MN).  Visitation begins at 10 am with funeral service at 11 am.
