Bernice Haare

Bernice Haare was born on September 21st, 1937 in Menagha and passed away on March 19th, 2020 from a very short battle with cancer at age 82.

Bernice grew up in Menagha, it was there she met Eugene Haare, the father of her three daughters, Pam, Kim and Roxanne. Bernice was a homemaker, raising the girls and taking care of her family. Later in life, she moved in with her daughter Roxanne, started working at Byerly’s eventually retiring from there in 2000. Most recently, she was living in Buffalo. She loved spending time with her family. She never forgot a birthday even up until the end. She always made sure to send a card or give a call. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and she was the queen of getting laundry washed, folded and put away, which in this day and age deserves a triple gold star! She also loved Elvis, Don Ho, Freddy Fender and mostly any man with dark hair and dark eyes, or as she liked to refer to them as “Bedroom Eyes”. She also had a little sass to her which always made things interesting, even up until the end she was rolling her eyes and giving a little attitude. She was a loving mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend and she will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Alma Nevala, Brothers:  Benhart Nevala, Clarence Nevala, Arnold Nevala, Sister Ellen Maunu, Eugene Haare and daughter Pamela Dearborn

She is survived by her daughters Kimberly (Chris) Vagt and Roxanne (Kurt) Marks, Grandchildren: Mellisa (Jeremy) Vagt, Amanda (Oscar) Galindo, Rachel ( Matt) Riebe, Great Grandchildren: Nicholas Galindo, Breanna Galindo, Lillian Schutz, Gabriela Galindo, Aiyden Dawson, Lucy Schutz, William Schutz, her Siblings: Marvin (Sandy)  Nevala and Harold (Cookie) Nevala, Betty Ann (Gilbert) Stahlback, her unofficial son in law Dave Davis, her loving caretakers up until the end Rhonda Tison and Emily Meier and many friends and distant relatives.
Burial will take place at Alioki Cemetery in Menagha with a private graveside service to follow at a later day.
