Blanche Johnson, of Big Lake, and formerly of Crystal, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 surrounded by her family. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, preceded in death by her cherished husband, Arnold “Arnie”, her parents, two sisters and one brother. Survived by son Jerry Johnson (Bernice Stewart); daughter Cheryl (Jeff) Lee; five grandchildren Jenna (Colin) Fluegel, Katie Lee (Craig Romans), Laura (Griffin) Buhman, Jason Champion, and Nico (Carly) Johnson; and great grandchildren Paxton and Mazi Fluegel, Zach Romans and Tarq Anderson.
Blanche was born and raised in Sisseton, South Dakota, and graduated from Sisseton High School in June of 1946. She then moved to Minneapolis, where she worked as a bookkeeper. She was married to Arnie in July of 1948. She proudly worked for a CPA firm in Crystal for 23 years.
She was a charter member of St. James Lutheran Church in Crystal and was very active in the church community. She and Arnie retired to Big Lake in 1990 and were active in the community and at Saron Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, tennis and golf, but especially loved afternoons with her family at the lake or around the kitchen table playing card games.

A private memorial will be held on Thursday, March 11. Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens of Crystal, MN. A celebration of life will be planned for late summer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saron Lutheran Church, Big Lake.
