Bonnie Irene (Dahlgren) Shierts

Bonnie Irene Shierts, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Suite Living Senior Care, Ramsey, Minnesota. Bonnie was born on January 6, 1934 in Hasty, Minnesota to Charles and Ethel (Mallo) Dahlgren.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Shierts on February 3, 1951. They lived in Hasty, Minnesota until moving to Otsego in 1960 where they built a new house and she continued to live until August 2022, at which time she entered the Suite Living Care Facility.

Bonnie was a homemaker who loved to bake, garden and can from her garden. She was a beautiful seamstress who sewed for the whole family. Bonnie also had a green thumb and would grow the most beautiful flowers and vegetables for her family and friends in her greenhouse. She also worked for the Cornelius Company and Menards for several years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ethel; her husband, Kenneth; her son, Kevin; and her grandson, Ryan.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Gayle (Ron) Hubbard of Becker; son, Randy (Jayne) Shierts of Zimmerman; daughter-in-law, Lynn Shierts of Clear Lake; nine grandchildren, Angela (Jeff) Welle, Chad Claassen (Mandy), Dayna Claassen, Brian Shierts (Katie), Keith (Erin) Shierts, Kelly Shierts, Jared (Trish) Shierts, Jason (Lyndsey) Shierts, Jacob Shierts; great-grandchildren, Luke, Landon, Lane, Vayda, Brooklyn, Lily, Sloane, Ashton, Livia, Owen, Otto, Will, Tanner, Logan, Finnley, Oliver, Emmett and Henry; and sister, Betty (Harlan) Rask.

Funeral service will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM, at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 Broadway Street East, Monticello, MN. Burial following at Riverside Cemetery in Monticello, MN.
