A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monticello on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM for Byron Wayne Hoglund, age 96, of Monticello, Minnesota, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024 surrounded by his family. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Luncheon to follow.
Byron Wayne Hoglund was born to Oscar and Minnie Hoglund on July 28th, 1928 in Hasty, MN. He married Betty Marie Yonak in 1948, together they had 5 children. Byron was employed most of his life as a crane operator for Spancrete. His favorite hobbies were buying and selling cars, playing cards, traveling and spending time with his family. His quick wit, cute smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Byron is survived by his children, Janis Aurentz of Monticello, Kaye Eisele of Monticello, Linda (Gary) Klersy of Monticello, Paul (Kim) Hoglund of Park Rapids, and Phil (Paula) Hoglund of Big Lake; sister, Clarice O'Connor; 11 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; siblings, Vernon, Maurice, Irving, Kenneth, Stuart, Basil, Curtis, and Vivian Wiese; son in laws, Jim Eisele and Ron Aurentz.
