Carol “Carrie” Theisen (Thielmann)
Our dearly loved Mom, age 90 of Monticello, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024. She was born in Cold Spring, Minnesota on January 18, 1934.
Preceding her in death are her parents; Lawrence and Loretta (Keppers) Thielmann; beloved husband Archie; and siblings Gina, Doc, Cy, Vaya, Almie, Noney and Mary. Survivors include her children Jeffrey Theisen, Ruth (David) Braun, Brad (Marci Mueller) Theisen, and Amy (Nick) Walz; grandchildren Ben, Ashley (Seth), Jake, Alex (Angela), Jacqui, Noah (Krista), and Jessica; great-grandson Declan; siblings Marlene, Wally (Louise); brother-in-law Wally Theisen; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was a member of St Henry’s Catholic Church. She was a tireless volunteer who touched many lives within multiple ministries in her community and church. She was the recipient of the 2012 Council of Catholic Women: The Lay Women Award. She was a member of Ladies of the Assembly, supporting Archie in his role as a 4th degree Knights of Columbus.
She enjoyed many jobs throughout her life. Her final job was as a receptionist at St Ben’s Senior Community, where she created their volunteer program.
She is remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, and generous spirit. Her dedication to her husband Archie and family was steadfast and unmatched. Her children and grandchildren remember her unwavering support at all of their activities, sporting events, concerts and graduations etc. Some of her greatest joys were spent around the kitchen table visiting and playing cards with family and friends. She loved to host family dinners and share her delicious mashed potatoes and potato salad.
Archie & Carrie always had an open door and welcoming hearts. They hosted foreign exchange students from Denmark, Ecuador and Mexico. Her loving spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, with visitation 1 hour prior at the Church of Saint Henry, 1001 E. 7th St., Monticello. Luncheon after mass, followed by interment at Saint Henry’s Church Cemetery.
