Catherine Helen (White) Ciano

Catherine Helen (White) Ciano, 77, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on December 6 after a long illness.

She is survived by her husband Vincent; children Jacqueline Schafer, Richard (Christine) Hupe, Pamela Hupe, Brian (Christine) Hupe; stepson Todd (Amy) Ciano; grandchildren Ricky, Allison, Alex, Shelby, Kayla, Joshua, Katie and (step) Joshua; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Lanny White, Mary White, Ronald (Sherrie) White and Daniel (Michaelle) White; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cathy was born on August 11, 1944 to Allen & Norene (Klemz) White in Buffalo, MN. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1962. After high school, in 1963, she married Claude Hupe and together they had four children. In June of 2006, she married Vincent Ciano in Las Vegas surrounded by loved ones. Cathy loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed family get-togethers. Living in Vegas, she loved the warm weather and also took joy in short jaunts to the casinos. Cathy was loved deeply and we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace surrounded by light.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Maureen “Snooks” White, Kenneth White and Wayne “Butch” White; and sons-in-law Craig Schafer and Eric “Rick” Grundhoefer. 

Visitation will be held from 12PM-4PM on Tuesday, 12/28/21 at PETERSON-GRIMSMO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 250 E. Broadway, Monticello. Vigil service at 3:30PM.

Interment to follow at St. Henry’s Cemetery, Monticello.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
