Charles "Pete" Henrich

Charles Peter Henrich (Pete), age 88 of Becker, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023. He was born September 15, 1935, in Plain Center, SD, the son of Romain and Della Henrich. Pete served as a corporal in the US Army Reserves in Alaska from 1957 - 1963. He married Avis Marie Baumgartner on April 22, 1961. They had three sons, Chuck, Joe and Patrick. For 30 years he did air conditioner maintenance at Sperry Univac/Unisys.

Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was known for his love of family and his willingness to help others. He learned to build houses with his father in Anchorage and built several houses in Becker with his wife and sons. Pete loved spending time with his family hunting, fishing, or just getting together for a barbeque and watching the Twins on TV. Avis was always his rock. He knew he could always count on her and she made his life complete. Pete will be missed, but knowing he is in a better place gives us all some comfort.

He is survived by his wife Avis, sons Chuck (Roxie), Joe (Lisa) and Patrick (ElizaBeth); sisters Mary, Doris, Jean, Joan, Polly (Bob); sisters-in-law Darlene, Ginny, Sharon (Mel), and Rene; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Romain and Della Henrich; father and mother in-law, Michael and Roma Baumgartner; brothers-in-law, Donny Kolbinger, Buddy Baumgartner and Putsy Baumgartner.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Peterson- Grimsmo Funeral home, 250 E. Broadway Street, Monticello, MN. Visitation from 10:00 – 11:00am followed by a service from 11:00 – 12:00.
