Daniel "Dusty" Robert Whaylen

Daniel Robert Whaylen, age 74 of Monticello, MN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2023. He was born September 18, 1948 in Worthington, MN, to Robert and Betty (White) Whaylen.

Dusty graduated from Granite Falls High School with the class of 1966. He proudly served in the US Army. He enjoyed his work drafting for Daiken in Plymouth for 27 years until his retirement.

On July 10, 1982, Daniel Whaylen and Patricia Lewison were united in marriage in Granite Falls, MN.

Dusty was a member of the Harley-Davidson H.O.G. He enjoyed riding his Harley and scooter, camping, bowling, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends.

He had an outgoing personality with a great sense of humor. His fun loving personality will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty Whaylen; and sister, Lizabeth Whaylen.

Dusty is survived by his loving wife, Patti Whaylen; son, Jared (fiancée, Katie) Whaylen; siblings, Mike Whaylen, Shelley (Darrel) Rusch, Robyn Booher, Dixie Whaylen, Tim (Michele) Whaylen, Lance (Kim) Whaylen and their families; and numerous friends.

A celebration of Dusty's life will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Monticello American Legion, 304 Elm St, Monticello, MN. Military honors will be performed at 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dusty’s name are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
