David "Dave" James Berg
January 31, 1954 - March 7, 2023
David James Berg, age 69 of Big Lake, passed away at his home, surrounded by family. He was born January 31, 1954 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Darral and Bernice (Geinitz) Berg.
Dave grew up in Litchfield and New Brighton, being part of his high school’s swim team. Dave loved running his own business, Easy Rider Delivery, which allowed him to meet and talk with new people.
On October 10, 1980, David Berg and Kathleen Burtson were united in marriage at The Church of the Epiphany in Coon Rapids, MN. They were blessed with three sons: David II, Daniel and Darren.
He enjoyed reading, tinkering around on things in the barn, riding his motorcycle, spending time at the lake, and meeting new people. His greatest enjoyment in life was his grandkids, his dog Willie. Being with the grandkids and attending all their sporting events.
Dave was a quiet natured man with a gift of gab. He was one of the most hardworking and dedicated individuals one would meet.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Darral and Bernice Berg.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Kathy Berg; sons, David Berg II (Jessica), Daniel Berg (Christine), Darren “Chop” Berg; grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew and Lucas Berg, Natalie, Nadia, Kisa, Jakoby and Daniel II Berg, Emmett, Rhett and Scarlett Berg.; sisters, Cherie Berg, Daralyn Peifer (Arthur), Greta Wedell (Michael), Paula Biermann (John); and many nieces, nephews, cousin, family and friends.
A special thank you to Dr. Molitor and his U of M team for their exceptional care of Dave; and to our dear friend, Steve (Alien) Butterfield, Dave’s “Brother from another Mother”
