David James Burzinski

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Peterson-Grimsmo chapel in Monticello, MN.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.  Masks are required.

David James Burzinski passed away peacefully at home in early April at the age of 67.  Dave was born October 6, 1953 in Austin, MN.  Upon graduating from Pacelli High School in 1972, he attended Austin Community College earning an Associate of Arts in business.  After a bit of traveling, he began working at Minnegasco, based in Minneapolis, which is now part of CenterPoint Energy.  Dave bought a house in Minneapolis, married and had three children.  Dave yearned for a less hustle and bustle city life, and so his family moved to a country home outside of Monticello.  There he continued to work for CenterPoint and commuted to work.  He achieved the level of Master in Heating and Air Conditioning. He was assigned teaching classes and was the go-to person for problem solving when workers in the field needed his guidance until his retirement at the age of 62.  Dave had the ability to learn skills quickly and efficiently.  His hobbies included archery, cross country skiing, motorcycle riding, hunting, and especially fishing.  He invested in a nice boat and looked forward to annual trips with family in Northern Minnesota.  Perhaps Dave’s greatest joy was establishing a nature sanctuary at his country home.   He planted a pine grove, a variety of apple trees, maples, and many wildflowers.  He took pride giving family and friends an individual tour of his labor of love.  He would describe with detail the beauty of nature.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Mary; daughter Kristine; and brothers Brian and Mark.

He is survived by his two sons Nicholas and Matthew; his sister Judy; brothers Jerry, John and Dean; his Aunt Madeline; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
