Delores Martha (Rotsolk) Hayes

Delores Martha Hayes was born March 17, 1933, in Silver Creek Township, Minnesota to Charles & Josephine (Johnson) Rotsolk. She died on Friday, August 1, 2025 at her home in rural Maple Lake, Minnesota, at the age of 92 years old.

Delores was baptized into the Christian faith on May 14, 1933 and affirmed her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the rite of confirmation at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Silver Creek, Minnesota, with Rev. Martin A. Hauser officiating. She grew up in Silver Creek Township and attended Charter School through 8th grade. She graduated from Annandale High School in 1951.

Delores married the love of her life, James Hayes, on August 10, 1963 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor G.C. Mack officiating. They lived at their home in rural Maple Lake where they raised their sons, Mark and David. Delores was a lifetime member at Immanuel Lutheran Church where she self-taught herself at the age of 16 to play the organ. She played the organ for Immanuel Lutheran Church until she was in her 80’s.

Delores was well known for her love of cooking, canning, being able to sew anything, and most of all baking. She was a devoted wife of almost 62 years, a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, James of Maple Lake; sons, Mark (wife, Sharon) of Buffalo, and David (wife, Shirley) of Monticello; four grandchildren, Megan (husband, Matthew) Voigt of Maple Lake, Mitchell (wife, Tiffany) Hayes of Monticello, Mara and Samantha Hayes of Buffalo; 4 great-grandchildren, Cooper, Savannah, Hadley and one due in January.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles; sister, Donna (husband, Leland); and sister, Eunice.

Delores’ funeral will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 11390 Elliot Ave NW, in Silver Creek, on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Visitation starts at 10:00 AM prior to the funeral. Delores’ nephew, Pastor Bruce Schut, will conduct the service. Delores’ great-nephew, Micah Schut, will be the organist. Burial will be at Corrina Lutheran Cemetery between Silver Creek and Annandale.
