Donald T. Aleckson

Age 86 of Big Lake, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Preceded in death by his parents Oris W. and Loretta (Pelg) Aleckson; sister, Donna; daughter, Kelly; and mother and father-in law Norris and Esther Gunderson. Don is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janet; children Dale, Joel (Michelle), and Kristy (Tom); grandchildren Ashley (Riley), Cassandra, Broderick (Kirsten), Logan, Levi (Katie), and Lauren; great-grandchildren Haedryn, Braelyn, Daxtyn, Morgyn, Penelope, Maverick, and Beauden; brother Dennis (Beth); nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Don was steadfast in his opinions, and had a way of looking at things that sometimes made us chuckle. He was a gun enthusiast and excelled at sighting them, hitting his targets, and the occasional prairie dog. He could fix and build anything mechanical, whether it was a tractor, work truck, classic car, stump grinder, or wood splitter.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Don’s honor at 1PM, with visitation from 11AM until time of service on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Big Lake Township’s Townhall and Lions Park, 21960 County Rd. 5, Big Lake, MN
