Born November 7th,1936 to Ignasious and Anna Russek in Delano, MN

Peacefully passed away April 9th, 2026 

Dorothy's favorite place to sit and enjoy the day was on the front deck of their mobile home (Kjellbergs Mobile Home Park) Monticello, MN,where their home has been since 1970. People always waved as they went by and many others would stop to visit.

 In 2024 Dorothy moved to Willows Landing (Monticello) where she made many new friends and met some old acquaintances. Dorothy enjoyed all of the social events, especially Bingo and cheering on the Vikings on the big screen TV. 

Dorothy enjoyed meeting and talking with people. She found joy in bartending at Joyner's Bowling Alley for 10 years, bowling on several leagues throughout her life, and going out to lunch withlifelong friends and coworkers. 

Dorothy enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing cards and games with family and friends. After retiring from Prudential, Dorothy and Dutch traveled to many states, national parks and casinos.

Dorothy is survived by her sons Dan (Trish), Dave (LuAnn); granddaughter Chrissy; sister Barb Emery (Russek).

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Donald "Dutch"; parents Ignasious and Anna Russek; sister Lorraine Stieve (Russek); brother Edmund Russek; and many dear friends.

 Dorothy was a lifetime member of the Monticello VFW Post 8731 Auxiliary where a Celebration of Life will be held to honor Dorothy's memory on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, 2:00pm - 5:00pm.

  A private inurnment will be held at Camp Ripley, Little Falls, MN.
