Dorothy Jean Hultberg joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven on April 11, 2024 at the St. Cloud Hospital with her family by her side.
Dorothy Jorgensen was born on January 28, 1943 to Frederick and Gertrude Jorgensen in Mayville, North Dakota. Due to unfortunate family issues, she eventually ended up with a wonderful foster family, the Carlsons in Staples, Minnesota. She graduated from Staples High School in 1961. After graduation, she attended Wadena Area Vocational Technical Institute and completed her Cosmetology course.
Dorothy married Stanley Hultberg on August 24, 1963 in Staples. To this union, four sons were born: Scott, Mark, Jeremy and Adam. They settled on the Hultberg home farm near Lake Ida, West of Monticello. She worked various local jobs until she started full time for Prudential Insurance in 1981. During her 23 years at Prudential, she worked in Underwriting and later became an Operations Settlement Specialist. In 1984 they sold the farm and moved to their current location near Enfield.
Dorothy was involved in many activities at the Tri County Alliance Church. Dorothy loved crafting. She crocheted, cross stitched, and created wonderful scrapbooks for her grandchildren. Dorothy was a meticulous painter and wallpaper hanger. She loved to work on her puzzles and no evening was complete without watching Wheel of Fortune! Dorothy attended many of her grandchildren’s sports and music performances.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; Foster parents, Pete and Helen Carlson, Foster Sister Audrey and her husband, Loren Mosman, her brother Richard, sister Carol and brother Wally.
She is survived by her husband, Stan; her children: Scott (Stacey) of Monticello, Mark (Kristi) of Elk River, Jeremy (Maureen) of Sebeka and Adam (Amy) of New York Mills; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Lois Hultberg, Douglas and Dennis Mosman, nieces and nephews, and many good friends.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 15 from 4-8 p.m. at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16 with additional visitation one hour prior to the service at the Tri County Alliance Church in Clearwater. Lunch will follow the service with interment in the Becker Cemetery.
