Dr. Michael A. Wieber

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, Monticello, MN for Dr. Michael A. Wieber, age 77, who passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial is to take place on a later date.

Michael was born on February 8, 1949, in St. Cloud, MN to Sylvester and Hilda (Rieland) Wieber.  Michael joined the Air Force where he proudly served our country from 1975-1978. He married the love of his life Rita (Fedor) Wieber in 1975. Michael and Rita owned and operated Monticello Optical from 1979-2017 until their retirement.

Michael loved to travel, especially to any warm destination. He took many trips to Florida and California with his family. Michael had an inquisitive mind; he loved all things mechanical. He had a passion for all types of music. He will be remembered for his dedicated, loving, and contemplative nature. Above all Michael cherished the time spent with his family. He will be missed dearly.

Michael is survived by his sons, Dr. Jeffrey (Nicole) Wieber and Steven Wieber, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Rita Wieber; his parents; siblings, Kenneth Wieber, Donald Wieber, Eileen Zabinski (Wieber), and Eugene Wieber.
