Dwight Richard Charles
November 5, 1946 – May 28, 2026
Dwight Richard Charles, age 79, passed away on May 28, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, adventures, and unwavering devotion to his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Pamella; his children, John (Julie), Jody, Jared (Danette), and Josh (Everdawn); and his cherished grandchildren, Justine, Jackie, Björn (Izzy), Beckham, Koen, Eli, Allie, and Micah. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn; his sister-in-law, Pat Norby; and 2 nieces, a nephew, extended family members, and friends.
Dwight proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, carrying the values of honor, discipline, and loyalty throughout his life. Following his military service, he built a successful career as Owner and President of Dermco LaVine Construction, where he displayed integrity and craftsmanship until his retirement.
A dedicated member of the National Ski Patrol for more than three decades, Dwight lived life with a spirit that few could match. He was an avid hunter, rock climber, marksman, sailor, skier, pilot, outdoorsman, and a cowboy.
Whether he was tracking game in Montana, sailing the Caribbean, skiing the mountains, flying an airplane, or sharing stories with everyone, Dwight embraced the opportunity to experience life to its fullest. Yet of all his accomplishments and adventures, Dwight leaves behind a legacy of being a husband, brother, father and grandfather.
Though he will be deeply missed, his love, values, and spirit will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Gone but never forgotten. Fair winds, mountain air, and Semper Fi, Marine.
