Edith (Humola) Faber, age 86, of Monticello, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Augusta, MN.
Edith was born on September 30, 1939, in Cokato Township, MN, to Archie and Mayme (Tarvas) Humola. She graduated from Dassel High School in 1957. In 1964, she married Eugene Faber, and together they shared 56 years of marriage until his passing.
Edith worked for many years at the Monticello–Big Lake Nursing Home, where she was known for her dedication and care, until her retirement. She later resided at St. Benedict’s Assisted Living in Monticello.
Edith enjoyed shopping, gardening, and traveling throughout the country with Eugene. She was very proud of her Finnish heritage and, while living in Monticello with her husband, had a sauna custom built on their property by her husband and father. Above all, she loved attending all of her children’s and grandchildren’s events and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, and her son, Robert. Edith is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Cory) Ressen; her son, John Faber; her granddaughters, Vanessa (Magdiel) Tapias-Ressen and Abigail Ressen; her sister, Geraldine Giese; along with other loving relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 2, 2026, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Monticello, MN. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon and burial will follow the service.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Quiet Oaks Hospice for the beautiful, compassionate care given to Edith during her final days.
