Elaine Eleanor Biegert, age 82, of Monticello, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Elaine was born on April 15, 1943, in Monticello, MN to Edmirel and Luella (Winters) Ernst. She attended school in Monticello and graduated in 1961. On July 13, 1963, she was united in marriage to Charles Biegert. They built their life together in Monticello and shared thirty wonderful years before his passing in 1993.
Elaine was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was defined by her love and care for others. Throughout much of her life, she was devoted to providing childcare in both center-based and home settings, nurturing countless children with patience and kindness. Her greatest joy, however, was caring for her own grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Under Grandma’s daycare rules, fruit snacks always counted as fruit, and strawberries were best enjoyed with a generous helping of sugar, along with a glass of Kool-Aid – all while typically watching an episode of Judge Judy or The Price Is Right.
In her earlier years, she enjoyed picking apples at Osowski’s Orchard and working at various concession stands at Osowski’s Flea Market, where she formed many lifelong friendships and enjoyed the cheerful sounds of polka music.
Those who knew Elaine will never forget her witty sense of humor and unfiltered honesty, which could turn any ordinary moment into one filled with laughter.
Elaine is lovingly remembered by her children, Theresa (Scott) Feldman, Joanne (Tim) Roff and Bradley Biegert; grandchildren Jamie (Maddy) Feldman, Stephanie (Alex) Schmieg, Lauren Roff (Kaleb Holme), Emma Roff, Andrew Roff, Alex Biegert and Madison Biegert; along with great grandchildren Maren and Hudson Feldman and Clyde and Reid Schmieg; and brother Earl (Sue) Ernst.
Elaine is also survived by sisters-in-law Sandra Ernst, Loretta (Ron) Tuma, Vyonne Rossman, Martha Grunewald, Noretta (Kevin) Efram and Karen Biegert; and brother-in-law Denny Cleland. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Biegert; infant son Randy Biegert; parents Edmirel and Luella Ernst; brother Russ Ernst; brothers-in-law Douglas Biegert, Gary Biegert and Bob Rossman; sister-in-law Donna Cleland and nephews John Rossman and Scott Tuma.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM with a short prayer service at 7 PM followed by sharing of memories on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 Broadway Street East, Monticello. A private interment will follow on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo, MN.
Services have been entrusted to Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel of Monticello.
