Eldon Daniels Obituary

Eldon L Daniels

Eldon was born on December 29, 1932. He passed away at the age of 90 on May 5, 2023 surrounded by family, friends and caring staff at Havenwood of Buffalo and Moments Hospice.

He was born to Arden and Martha Daniels. He joined the army at 17 and during this time he found the love of his life, Erna (Anna).  They married in Germany on August 3, 1957. They had four children Silvia, Blayde, Patty and Erika.

He retired in 1974 and moved with his family to Monticello to be close to his mother and siblings. He worked for the St Cloud Reformatory and also retired from there.  In addition, he got his degree as a TV repairman from St Cloud Technical College and started his own business, Daniels TV Repair.

Eldon was truly a generous person.  As a young man, he sent his mother part of his wages every month until her death.  When he married, he did the same for his mother-in-law and was known to share his generosity with many others.

He loved nature and being outdoors. He enjoyed gardening and hunting but truly loved to fish. He named himself “The Great Provider” and enjoyed bringing home his catch of the day.  He got much satisfaction from sharing his passion of fishing with family and friends but especially his grandchildren.

Although raised as a different religion, Eldon was later baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  He volunteered in the ministry to help others to learn about the Bible truths that so enriched his life.  He wanted to help others know about Jehovah God’s loving qualities and his promises for the future including the promise at Rev. 21:3,4 that death would be no more and wholeheartedly believed in a future resurrection on a paradise earth.

Eldon was preceded in death by his son Blayde Daniels; parents Arden and Martha Daniels and siblings Elizabeth Klein, Elwin Daniels, Eva Poach, Marie Otsubo, Wilbur Daniels, Margie Johnson and Kathleen Nelson.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Erna and children Silvia (David) Brouillard, Patricia (Michael) Knese, and Erika (Caleb) Nelson; and grandchildren Stephanie and Shae Brouillard, Kevin and Lucas Knese, Catrinia Flaherty, Monet Daniels, and Annie and Malachi Nelson, as well as four great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his siblings Jim (Sam) Daniels and Elaine Peikert.

Eldon was a kind, caring person who was loved by many and he will be missed immensely.

Funeral service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the Monticello Middle School, 800 Broadway Street East, Monticello, MN, followed by a luncheon.
