Elsie A. (Rossbach) Maser, 85, of Monticello, MN, passed away on May 26, 2024, at Willows Landing in Monticello, MN.
Elsie was born April 26, 1939, in Finlayson, MN. She was the youngest of four girls born to George and Jeannette Rossbach. She graduated from Finlayson High School in 1957. Elsie married Roger Maser, also of Finlayson, in October of 1957. They resided in Sandstone where their daughter Donna and son Dale were born. In 1963 they moved to North Branch where their other son Doug was born. They moved to Monticello in 1969 where Roger went into a partnership at a local car dealership.
Elsie was employed as a bookkeeper for the dealership and a library aide at the local elementary school. After Roger retired, they moved to Kailua Kona, Hawaii where they resided for 14 years. Elsie moved back to Monticello after Roger passed away to be closer to family. She was a long-time member of the Community Methodist Church in Monticello. She also volunteered at the local hospital at the information desk and escorted patients to appointments. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, gardening, and putting puzzles together with her granddaughters.
Elsie is survived by her daughter, Donna (Dave) Koenig of Crosslake, MN; son, Dale Maser of Monticello, MN; son, Doug (Emily) Maser of Rogers, MN; grandchildren, Lydia (Jordan) Gerber, Claire (Mario) Frucci, Jordan, and Alison; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Lauren, Hannah, Asher, Roy, and Selah. She is also survived by her sister, Alice Rohleder, of Duluth, MN; many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by husband, Roger; parents; daughter-in-law Laura; great-granddaughter, Rachel; and sisters Mary Lou and Helene.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 3:00 PM, with visitation one hour prior, at Community United Methodist Church, 9225 Jamison Ave NE, Monticello, MN.
