Emil "Dave" David Lavrenz

Emil “Dave” Lavrenz, age 88 of Big Lake, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2024. He was born June 1, 1935.

Dave proudly served in the US Navy. He attended Dunwoody College, learning welding. He enjoyed being outside, hunting and fishing. Dave always had a project that he was working on, and shortly after finishing one he was on to the next project.

On July 25, 1959, Emil and Virginia Robarge were united in marriage in Maple Grove.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Letha “Grace” (Arnfelt) Lavrenz; half-sister, Joyce Blesi; and half-brothers, Vern and Gerard Ward.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Lavrenz; sons, Tony (Michelle) Lavrenz, Daniel (Cheryl) Lavrenz, James (Grete) Lavrenz; grandchildren, Kelsy (Blake) LeMire, Matthew (Eve) Lavrenz, Katelyn Lavrenz, Martha (Rory) Sherman, Nicholas (Stacy) Lavrenz, Emily (Andrew) Zaccardi; great-grandchildren, Kashton, Porter and Gracelyn LeMire; Brinley and Amelia Lavrenz; and many other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Saron Lutheran Church, 311 Lake St S, Big Lake, MN. Burial will be held at Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls.
