Estelle Godwin Kimball

Estelle G. Kimball, 99, passed away on September 27, 2019, at her residence in Monticello, MN.

She was born July 16, 1920 in Micro, NC, to the late Joseph and Martha (Price) Godwin.

After her 1937 graduation from high school in Wilson, NC, her working years were spent with the U.S. government, an accounting firm in Stephen, MN, and as a church secretary. She gave many hours of service as a volunteer with hospice and other organizations. Her early retirement years were spent enjoying the sunshine in Venice, FL, and later she was blessed with many friends and good times at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in Monticello, MN.

Estelle truly lived her long life to the fullest with love and a positive outlook and was an inspiration to everyone she met. She married the love of her life, David A. R. Kimball on September 5, 1942 and together they had one daughter, Martha Carolyn. She enjoyed travel, golf, walking the beach, pizza parties and many activities with dear friends, and had a lifelong devotion to the Lutheran faith.

She was predeceased by her husband, David; daughter, Martha; granddaughter, Kristin; and her seven siblings.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Alicia (David), and John (Liz); grandson-in-law Chad; and 9 great-grandchildren, Samuel, Jacob, Ana, Dane, Beau, Carly, Abby, Emma and Quinn. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will miss her, but will always remember her as an example of a life well-lived.

A celebration of life luncheon will be held at St. Benedict’s Village Senior Community, 1301 - 7th Street East, Monticello on Sunday, October 6 at 2 pm.
