Florence (Trettel) Kealy Mayer
Passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026.
Preceded in death by husband, Thomas Kealy Sr.; son, Thomas Kealy Jr.; son, James Kealy; and husband, Vincent Mayer.
Survived by daughter, Mary Kealy-Falk; son, Patrick (Patricia) Kealy; grandchildren, Matthew, Jeffrey, and Joe Kealy, Thomas Falk and Brenna Falk, John Kealy and Madison Kealy-Shea; 5 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Florence was a first-grade schoolteacher for many years at Monticello Elementary school and dedicated herself to teaching young children to enjoy learning and especially learning how to read. She spent many years going to college night school and summer classes to receive her degree. She was active throughout the years with many study groups, choirs, and senior center activities. She loved music and sang in church and senior center choirs and became known for her rendition of “Secondhand Rose” which she performed at many parties and events.
Florence also displayed courage and strength having lived through losing her first husband, Thomas, to cancer, her oldest son, Thomas, to cancer, her second husband, Vince, and the unexpected death of her son, Jim, just nine months ago. And yet she carried on in each situation with grace and resilience and never lost her zest for life, purpose, or friendships.
She will be greatly missed but always remembered for her love of family, love of friends and love of life.
