Gary Melvin Nesseth, age 70 of Monticello, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, after a long, courage battle with cancer. He was born in St. Cloud on March 13, 1955.
Gary received his Wildlife Management Degree from the University of Minnesota and was dedicated to wildlife and conservation efforts. An entrepreneur, realtor, farmer and President of Counselor Realty.
Gary enjoyed his time working, fishing, farming, making wine, and traveling to his resort, Crane Lake Wilderness Lodge. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Gary had a heart of gold, always making sure everyone was taken care of and always tried to make the world a better place. He had a good sense of humor and was a jack of all trades.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Frances (Hromatka); sister, Lucille and brother, Rolland.
Gary is survived by his children, Carrie, William (Christine), Benjamin (Ashley); grandchildren, Aliesha (Axel), Wyatt, Ethan, Luke, Porter, Finnegan, Annabelle, Ellie, Noah; beloved cat, Felix; siblings, Donald, Charles, Shirley, Charlotte; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
