George Curtis Angell
Age 83, formerly of Big Lake, MN passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026. He was preceded in death by wife Rosemary; life partner Kaye Camacho; and son Curtis Angell; and 3 brothers and a sister. George is survived by his daughters Sheri (Wade) Rambur and Carrie (Bob) Vogt; grandchildren Cassie, Tyler (Sarah), Rachelle, Tiffany, Chase, Brady (Halley), Logan, and Brock; Kaye’s sons Christopher (Shelly), David, and Lee; Kaye’s grandsons Kaden, Louis, and Cruz; great-grandchildren Makayla, Gavin, Mila, Myles, Kinsley, Carter, Olivia, Brantley, and Brooks; 4 brothers and 3 sisters; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
George was a true nature lover. He kept his birds well-fed, liked watching loons, but was known as the “Hummingbird whisperer”. He was gentle, kind-hearted, and generous. He was intelligent and could fix just about anything. He had the mind of a crafter and could envision things and build them. He was a longtime caretaker and maintainer of the private road he lived on in Aitkin. It was a great benefit to his neighbors and visitors. He did this until his health no longer allowed him to, and then he showed others the way. Always looking out for others, and being the thoughtful man he was, George sent out birthday and Christmas cards that the entire family knew would arrive in a timely and much anticipated manner.
Our dad and grandpa will be dearly missed but never forgotten. We will remember him in the flit of every hummingbird and call of every loon.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a short prayer service at 6:30 p.m. followed by full military honors and cake and cookies at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 E. Broadway Street, Monticello. www.peterson-grimsmochapel.com
