Gerald “Jerry” Michael Hellman
Age 78 of Monticello
Passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, one day after his 78th birthday. He was preceded in death by siblings Edward Hellman, Bernice Hanson, Vanita Hellman, infant twins Katherine and Selma Hellman, Floyd Hellman and Donny Hellman; and special brothers-in-law Ronnie Hanson, Brad “Ole” Olson, Bob Wenger; and special sister-in-law Barb Hellman. Jerry is survived by his sons Randy (Julie) Hellman, and Brian (Rachel) Hellman; grandchildren Nathan Hellman, Kalley Hellman, Jackie Hellman, Kaitlyn (Carsten) Scherber, Colton Hellman, Tricia Hellman, and Katrina Hellman; siblings Victor Hellman, Katherine (Harvey) Helfrich, Irene Wenger, Sandra Olson, Mike (Sue) Hellman, and Pam (Randy) Stanton; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Jerry was born on a farm in Burt, ND to parents Jerome and Margaret (Reichert) Hellman. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He loved cruising around in his pick-up and taking trips to Sturgis on his Harley Davidson. His grandkids always brought a smile to his face! Jerry loved helping his sons with their businesses. He kept his own lawn perfectly manicured and loved tending to his tomato plants. A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Friday, July 28, 2023 with visitation 1 hour prior to service at the Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 E. Broadway Street, Monticello. 763-295-2918.
