Geraldine "Geri" (Goldade) Flaten
Age 65 of Big Lake, MN
Formerly of Minot, ND
Passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 19, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was preceded by her father, Leo Goldade. Surviving family members include Geri’s mother, Angie (Fix) Goldade; children Brandy (Todd) Couch, Ryan (Laura) Flaten; grandchildren McKenzie, Warren, Trevor, Nolan, and Brianna; siblings Ron (Cheryl) Goldade, Terry (Val) Goldade, Mark (Corky) Goldade, Dale (Lisa) Goldade, Les (Michelle) Goldade; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Geri was enduringly positive and always had a smile to share. She was happiest when spending time with her family and friends. Geri enjoyed playing games, reading, cooking, baking, going to family cabins, and always looking for the best bargain. She was an animal lover. Most recently, she had as pets, her cat, Bella and Chippy the Chipmunk who Geri could feed out of her hand. She also delighted in the wildlife around her home, including the butterflies, the deer and turkeys wandering through the yard, and the well-fed squirrels. Geri enjoyed afternoon walks, appreciative of all the flowers and plants in the warmth of the summer sun. Her courage, perseverance, and strength were admirable and have left their everlasting mark on everyone she touched. Geri was well-loved and left us with many amazing memories we will always cherish. A celebration of life service will be held in the spring, followed by interment in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND. A special thanks to the Monticello Cancer Center and Moments Hospice for their care and kindness.
