Harvey Neil Lewis

Age 80, of Browns Valley, MN (formerly of Big Lake) passed away February 13, 2022.

Born at home in Hoffman, MN on July 3, 1941 to Bernard (Bill) and Clara Lewis he was the youngest of 7 children. Harvey attended kindergarten in Ely and the rest of his school years in Morris. He joined the Navy in 1959 and was discharged in 1962. During his time in the Navy, he spent 2 years on the ship and 2 years on shore duty. In 1963, he married Wanda Sue Wallace and they had 2 children. Harvey remarried Susanne May Mills in 1983 and together they had 2 children. He was a semi-driver for 40+ years. One year at a truck rodeo he earned 1st place which he was incredibly proud of. Often he would tell you “I’ve got more miles backing up than you do going forward.” In Harvey’s earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. After retirement he enjoyed the casino (way too much), making wood projects and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Preceeded in death by his parents; siblings, William “Bill” (Beverly) Lewis, Ellis (Doris) Lewis, Burton Lewis, Kathleen “Toddy” Webber, Avis (Ray) Novak; In-laws, Darlene and Jim Pearson, Marilyn Mateski.

Survived by his wife, Susanne; children, Tim, Jeff, Amber (Mike), Jason (Katrina);grandchildren, Paige, Paisley, Palmer, Paityn, Blake and Quinn; sister, Shirley (Bob) Nestvold;  sister-in-law, Sonia Lewis, In-laws, Carol (Les) Anderson, Glennis (Roger) Jorgenson, Gordy (Darla) Mills, Sandy Flinn.

Funeral service at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Saron Lutheran Church, 311 Lake St S, Big Lake, with visitation starting at 9:00AM
