Henry John Blonigen

Henry J. Blonigen age 72 passed away peacefully in the early hours of April 29th with his wife Carolyn by his side.

Henry was born October 20th, 1953, to Dan and Irene (Seifert) Blonigen. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1972. He married his high school sweetheart Carolyn (Nesenson) Blonigen on November 16th, 1974. They shared 51 years of marriage. He was a construction builder at Blonigen Builders alongside his father and brother Jim. After his construction days, he was a bus salesman selling Bluebird buses for many years. 

Henry and Carolyn raised their 3 sons in Monticello, MN. His hobbies included fishing, playing cards with his friends, spending time with his family in the Brainerd Lakes area and Sauk Center. In his later years he enjoyed working in his workshop. They also enjoyed moving...a lot :) After the boys graduated, they moved to Beebe Lake where time was spent with their sons, grandsons, and friends. They then moved to a beautiful home on the Crow River. They moved again to a home nestled in the trees in Becker, finally settling in Clearwater with a view of the Mississippi backwater.

Henry is survived by wife Carolyn Blonigen. His sons Josh (Nicki) Blonigen of Big Lake, MN, Joe Blonigen of South Padre Island, TX, Jerry Blonigen Clearwater, MN. Grandsons Sterling Blonigen of St. Cloud, MN and Grady Blonigen of St Cloud, MN. Sister-in-law Nellie Blonigen of Big Lake, MN. Siblings Sue Burgess of Becker, MN, Lucy (Dan) Koch of Monticello, MN, Pat (Lori) Blonigen of Monticello, MN, Betty Borst of St. Cloud, MN, Theresa (Bob) Jones of Big Lake, MN, Anna (Barry) Kampa of St. Cloud, MN. Along with many other family members and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Dan and Irene, sisters Ann and Mary, brother Jim, and brothers-in-law Kenny Burgess and Rick Borst.

There will be a prayer service Friday May 15th, 2026 at 7:00PM with a time of sharing to follow, visitation starting at 4:00PM at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Home in Monticello, MN.
