Hilary Joan (Wise) Hoglund

Hilary Joan Hoglund (Wise), age 78 of Elk River Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, May 9th 2026 surrounded by the family she treasured so much. She was born in Nottingham England on May 17th, 1947 to Elaine and Arthur Wise.

Our Mother lived a life filled with love, laughter, kindness, creativity and generosity. She was an avid gardener, wonderful cook, talented photographer, and incredibly smart with wit, humor and an immense vocabulary that helped her win at Scrabble everytime. Not only did she have a great vocabulary but she also had an English accent that never faded and that everyone loved. She loved the rivers of MN, dancing, and of course her Over 50 Facebook posts that she loved to share and that made her laugh out loud.

She was the heart of our family, always encouraging, supporting and cheering on her children and her grandchildren through every stage of life. She always made her family and friends feel loved and valued. Above all else, our Mother's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family that she loved so deeply. She will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved her.

Hilary is survived by her husband of 34 years, Tom Hoglund; her sister Stephanie Greenfield (Rick); her children Helen Campbell (Doug), Virginia Anderson (Steve) and Daniel Grue (Molli). She is also survived by her seven wonderful grandchildren: Sean and Jessica Campbell, Devon and Logan Oneil and Makayla Smith (Austin), Tyler and Alisha Grue, and her first Great Granddaughter Raelynn Smith (congratulations to Mom and Dad Makayla and Austin Smith!).

A Celebration of her life will be held on August 1st at Ellison Park in Monticello Mn from 10am-1pm.
