Jacob D. Steiner, of Milaca, Minnesota, passed away on August 22, 2025, at the age of 27. Born on October 17, 1997, in Monticello, Minnesota, Jacob lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a love for the outdoors.
Jacob graduated from Monticello High School, made Eagle Scout and went to the EMT program at Anoka Technical College. He proudly served his country as a member of the 309 Engineer Company in Brainerd. He worked for Collins Brothers Towing, where he was known for his strong work ethic.
Jacob found joy in nature and spent countless hours hunting and fishing - activities that brought him peace and connection to the world around him. His love for animals was evident in his bond with his cherished furry companions: Beretta, Ben, Leo, and Thad.
He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Geri and Roger Steiner; sister Rachael; grandmother Sharon Steiner; and significant other Leah Burke, Esme and Harlee. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends whose lives he touched deeply.
Jacob was preceded in death by his grandparents Bud & Irene Melkert, and Roger Steiner.
In honor of Jacob's memory and his dedication to service members past and present, donations may be made to veterans organizations in lieu of flowers.
May Jacob's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and strength to those who carry forward his legacy of service and love for others and the outdoors. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Monticello Legion Post 260, 304 Elm Street.
