James Donald Patrick Carpenter

James Donald Patrick Carpenter, age 82 of Monticello, MN, and formerly of Mansfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was born in Dyersville, Iowa on January 16, 1942.

James was a dedicated engineer who contributed to the space program, Boeing Company, and military contracting.

On September 9, 1972, James Donald Patrick Carpenter and Elizabeth Anne Kucera were united in marriage. The two were blessed with a daughter, Gwendolyn.

He enjoyed coin and stamp collecting, reading, astronomy, and indulging in the imaginative realms of Star Trek. He loved planting and nurturing a variety of plants and life on the family’s land in Missouri.

James was known for his quiet demeanor, yet his depth of knowledge and passion for his enjoyments in life. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of dedication.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth Carpenter; and parents, Francis and Doris (Dubois) Carpenter.

James is survived by his daughter, Gwen (Jeff) Cloutier; grandson, Cody Eischen; brother, Kevin (Diann) Carpenter; and many other family and friends.

A private family burial will be held.
