A funeral service will be held at the Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Home on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 9:00 AM for James Emmett Stevenson who passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Visitation will take place from 8:30 AM until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
James E. Stevenson was born on April 6, 1942, to Willard and Melva (Trumpower) Stevenson in Bozeman, Montana. He joined the military while he was in high school and proudly served our country for 21 years. He met the love of his life JoAnne during their military service. They were married on March 4, 1963, in Sierra Vista, AZ. They went on to have 3 children.
James enjoyed having his morning cup of coffee, puzzles, traveling, going for drives, trains, camping, carpentry, and working on vehicles in his younger years. He will be remembered for his hard working, dedicated, energetic, and driven nature. He was a loving husband, father, and brother. Above all he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years JoAnne; children, Robin, James Jr, and Jason, and many nieces and nephews. He preceded by his parents, Willard and Melva and sister Anna Marie.
