James "Jim" W. Kasper

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Home in Monticello for James W. Kasper, age 54, of Buffalo who passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Luncheon to follow at the Monticello Community Center.

James  “Jim”  William Kasper was born with Down Syndrome on August 23, 1969, to Dr. John A. Kasper and Ruth (Pajari) Kasper in Monticello, Minnesota. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1990 and worked for Functional Industries for over 20 years. James had a tremendous love of music, he enjoyed attending band concerts at the Monticello High School and directing music. He loved puzzles, bowling, sports, parades, and being the life of the party. He participated in the Special Olympics and won many medals. Above all James cherished the time spent with his family. He will be remembered for his happy personality and contagious smile. He touched so many lives and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his foster mom Deb Varner; co-guardians Daniel (Sheryl) Kasper of Northfield, MN, and Janet (Michael) Robinson of Searcy, AR; siblings, Laura Kasper of St. Louis Park, MN and Michael (Primthip) Kasper of Clear Lake, MN, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother Dr. John A. and Ruth Kasper, foster dad, Cal Varner, and niece Becky Kasper.
