James "Jim" William Vockrodt

James William Vockrodt, age 75 of Monticello, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. He was born February 11, 1950 in Pipestone, MN, to Loren and Ruth (Estell) Vockrodt.

Jim graduated from Brookings Senior High School in Brookings, SD, in 1968 and furthered his education at SDSU.

On February 10, 1973, James and Kathleen (Cooksley) were united in marriage in Pipestone, MN.

Jim built a dedicated and successful career in the auto industry, where his hard work and commitment eventually led him to proudly own and operate his own business.

He was the most proud of his two boys and most grateful for his four grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathy; sons, Michael (Elizabeth), Jason (Morgan); grandchildren, Emma, Jack, Luke, Coravina; two sisters, three brothers, four cousins, and their families; and numerous friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Jim’s wishes were to have his ashes scattered at Roughlock Falls near Spearfish, SD in the Black Hills.
