Janet Marie (Whittlef) Brower

Janet Marie Brower, age 83 of Monticello, passed away peacefully at St. Benedict’s Care Center in St. Cloud. She was born November 9, 1939 in Princeton, the daughter of Clarence and Esther (Warner) Whittlef.

Janet was a graduate of Princeton High School. She worked many years as a social worker for Sherburne and Wright Counties until her retirement.

Janet was president of her townhouse association for many years, part of a bowling league, and very active in her churches Resurrection Lutheran Church and Alive Lutheran Church in Monticello. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, going to the casino with friends, and watching the MN Vikings. She also enjoyed hosting holidays with her family, and was known for her delicious pickle roll-ups and deviled eggs at Easter.

She had a bubbly, happy-go lucky personality with a contagious smile and the best laugh! She was the most loyal, supportive and caring person one would meet!

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnie Brower; parents, Clarence and Esther; brothers, Duane and Lowell; nephew, Cory Whittlef; and beloved dog, Nelly.

Janet is survived by her brother, Lynn (Linda) Whittlef; stepchildren, Kim, Sheldon, Mike, Jeff; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A special thank you to the caring people at St. Benedict’s in Monticello and the hospice care team at St. Benedict’s Care Center in St. Cloud. We truly appreciate the compassion you gave to Janet and our family.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 East Broadway Street, Monticello, MN. Burial at Riverside Cemetery in Monticello.
