Janice “Jinny” Buck

Jinny was born March 4, 1943 and died December 24, 2022 at the age of 79.  Jinny was born in Minneapolis, but spent her childhood growing up west of Monticello at the family farm on Lake Ida. 

Jinny was salutatorian of her high school class in Monticello, and went on to college at St Cloud State where she graduated in the med tech field.  Jinny took her lab tech skills to the Peace Corp and foreign mission fields, spending most of her working career in Asia and Africa.  She returned to Minnesota in retirement where she enjoyed some years near Hinckley, MN with her special dog pals and then back to the Monticello area to be with her sister and family. 

Jinny is survived by her sister, Marcia (Richard) Schut; her nieces, Wendy (Barry) Bluhm, Karen (Jerry) Gudim; and nephew, Tom (Ardis) Schut. 

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 East Broadway, Monticello. Burial will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Monticello.
