Janice Keto Peterson (nee Boggs), age 93, was called home to be with our Lord on September 12, 2025 with her daughter, Kathy, blessed to be by her side and holding her hand.
Janice was preceded in death by her husbands Norman Peterson (m. 1979-2009) and Robert Keto (m. 1950-1976); brother, Dallas Boggs; and stepdaughter, Emily Burgess.
Janice is survived by her sons, John Keto; Bob (Cherie) Keto; daughter Kathy (Bob) Wise; step-sons Gordy (Carolyn) Peterson; David Peterson; Donald (Kathy) Peterson; grandchildren, Jennifer, Allyson, Andrea, Shauna, Justine, Laura, Elizabeth, Eric, Emily, Nick, Brian, Alyssa, Samantha and Nick; and many great grandchildren.
Janice loved the Lord, her children, her friends, and being around people. She was the friend who would call to set up a “spur of the moment” lunch date to chat.
Janice grew up in Kimball, Minnesota. In 1950, she married Robert Keto. Together they raised three children in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota until his death in 1976. Three years later she met Norm Peterson. After a short courtship, they combined their two families and were happily married until his death in 2009.
Janice loved to dance. The story goes that when she met Norm, with a twinkle in his eyes, he challenged her to keep up with him on the dance floor and with a determined look on her face she accepted and she didn’t miss a step. It was a joy to watch them glide over the dance floor.
Janice was her children's prayer warrior. She often said that the Lord caused her to fall asleep because her prayers were so long.
She volunteered at her church, folding bulletins or serving in the kitchen. She was also part of the Red Hat Society. She moved to Arbor Lakes Senior Living in Maple Grove, Minnesota in 2017 and enjoyed all types of activities and outings.
Her family always enjoyed her famous potato salad, apple pies, chocolate chip cookies, and special waffles for the grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel in Monticello, Minnesota on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 11:00am with visitation 1 hour prior to service followed by a luncheon.
