Jeffrey "Jeff" Unterburger Obituary

Age 62 of Monticello
Jeffrey (Stormin') Norman Unterburger was born in Litchfield, MN on September 11, 1960, graduating from Litchfield High School in 1980. He was the 14th of 15 children born to Clarence and Ruth Unterburger and was raised in Darwin, MN. Jeff passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital.Jeff was a strict father, just ask Jessica and Jake his two children with his first wife Roxann. However, he was a dedicated and loving dad who only wanted what was best for them. In hindsight, that approach paid off as
is witnessed by the successful adults they both are today. Not to mention they made him a grandpa! Becoming a grandparent was some of his happiest and proudest moments. He was a softie with the littles and loved goofing around and giving them a hard time. Jeff married his long-time love Barb on Dec 01, 2001. This is a love story that spanned decades. They dated in
high school, only to go their separate ways. On March 3rd, 2001, Jeff made a life-changing phone call to Barb wondering what happened to his high school girlfriend. They immediately connected like it was yesterday and rekindled the romance. The union was quickly made legal, and they have thrived in a marriage based on love, trust, and deep friendship for more than 21 years. From that point forward March 3rd was forever a “happy phone call day” holiday for Barb and Jeff. It never passed without a sweet text or phone call to each other. In his free time Jeff enjoyed fishing, bowling, grilling, coaching the Vikings from the couch and spending time with his family. Jeff could be seen around the neighborhood taking his beloved Daisy for rides in his red scooter - a throwback to the motorcycle days of his youth. Jeff could be a bit of a homebody and was happy living a simple life. He loved to sit out on the balcony watching the birds and staying in enjoying the latest action-packed Netflix series. For those that know Jeff well, you know he was very particular about his home, both inside and out. Before moving into a townhouse, he kept an immaculate yard. Each year when the dandelions would come out, he was out there spraying with a vengeance! Barb would always laugh at him because the next day there would be more. Clearing and salting the driveway was another thing that had to be done timely and to perfection. He liked his home to look nice and it always did. Have you ever seen his organized garage? Jeff’s attention to detail paid off during his long career in construction equipment management. He cut his teeth as a Parts Manager at Carlson Tractor & Equipment where he was described as well respected,
organized, and intelligent, having a strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to help. Jeff got along extremely well with customers, suppliers, and his co-workers. He rarely missed a day of work, demonstrating his hard-work ethic and drive. At the time of his passing, Jeff was employed by MP Nexlevel as Parts Manager since late 2007. Jeff leaves behind many loving family members, friends, co-workers. He will be sorely missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Ruth (Schill) Unterburger; siblings Don Unterburger, and Linda Fuchs; and brothers-in-law Phil Kloeckl, Paul Hoeper, and Gilbert Anderson. Jeff is survived by his loving wife Barb; children Jessica Yuhala, and Jake (Jericho) Unterburger; step-children Dustin (Kristina) Casey, Carrie (Justin) DeMorrett, and Carter Casey; grandchildren Roman, Mikko, Carter, Quinn, Wyatt, Barrett, James, Emily, Madison, Maesyn, Raelynn, and Walker; siblings Kathy (Dave) Erickson,
Jeannette Anderson, Theresa Kloeckl, Ralph Unterburger, Carol (Mouse) Miller, Rita Schilling, Joyce (Ron) Slyter, Mary (Ed) Vincent, Duane Unterburger (fiancée Linda), Dave (Dawn) Unterburger, Barb Hoeper, and Betty (Mike) Willing; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives & friends. A family and friends gathering will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 E.
