It is with heavy hearts we announce that Joseph “Joe” Peasha, 79, passed away on November 3, 2024, at his home in Clearwater, surrounded by loving family. Joe was born on August 10, 1945, in Minneapolis, MN.
Joe attended Holy Rosary primary school and Vocational Technical High School in Minneapolis. His professional career as a “tinner” was marked by 53 years membership in SMW Local 10, earning a HVAC Master license and a Master Gas Fitter license as well as teaching students at Dunwoody College.
Joe was known for his humor, kindness, and generosity. A skilled craftsman in both wood and sheet metal, he could build and fix anything from cars to homes. Joe enjoyed adventures that included traveling, camping, scuba diving, downhill and water skiing. In more relaxing moments, Joe liked to read books and watch shows about American history. Joe had a silly and quick-witted humor and was always open for a beer and a laugh with family and friends.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Joe served on the USS Annapolis from 1963 to 1965 where he acted as a fire-fighter in Damage Control.
Joe is survived by his wife and best friend of 58+ years, Sandy, their children Dawn (Rodrigo) and Kelly (Jamie), grandchildren Justen (Nicole), and Anthony, and great-granddaughter Nora. He also leaves behind siblings Betty (Wally), Chuck (Emy), Danny (Susie), Ray (Linnea), and loving sister-in-law, Chris (Tony). He and Sandy also became extended family to neighbors Jeff, Lisa, and their children, Lucas and Jamison.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Clarice "Corky" Pageant/Bullock; step-father Ray, sibling Sharon, and friend and brother-in-law, Tony.
A memorial will be held on November 23, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 Broadway St. E., Monticello, MN, with a special sharing of memories at 12:30 pm. A luncheon will follow the time of sharing at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, donations in Joe's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
