Judith Ann Brown

Judith (Judy) Ann Brown passed away at her home in Wahkon, MN on Saturday, June 24, 2023. Judy was born on September 10, 1974 in Princeton, MN to Edward A. Kalenda, and Clara A. (Berthiaume) Becker. She was raised in Villard, MN for a period of time. Years later, Judy was raised in Big Lake with her mother and siblings. She lived in many places throughout Minnesota. Judy attended the Monticello school system until she was 11, then Big Lake schools until she was 17. In October of 2003, she gave birth to her son Thomas in Fergus Falls.

Judy enjoyed reading, but her real passion was cooking. She was an amazing cook. It didn't matter what it was, she could cook it! Judy was a hard worker and had many cooking jobs over the years at a variety of places. She worked at Bondhus Corporation for over 10 years assembling many different tools for them. Judy also worked at Plums Restaurant in the Mille Lacs Casino. Her last job was working as a cook at Appledoorn's Sunset Bay Resort in Isle.

Judy will be greatly missed by many family and friends she has met over the years. Survivors include her mother Clara A. Becker of Randall, MN; son Thomas Linder of Buffalo, MN; siblings Jonathan A. Brown of Randall, MN, and Tina M. (Brown) Othoudt of Montrose, MN; and step-sister Mickaela R. (Becker) Johnson of Sauk Rapids, MN.

Judy was preceded in death by her father Edward Kalenda and his parents; grandparents Leonard and Violet Berthiaume; aunts and uncles Betty and George Leslie;  James "Jim" Berthiaume; Lloyd "Bert" Berthiaume, and Lorraine (Berthiaume) McClay.

A memorial service to honor Judy will be held from 11AM-3 PM on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the Montrose Community Center, 200 Center Ave. South, Montrose.
