Karen Louise Osell

Karen was born on October 6, 1955, in Brainerd, MN to Harry & Ruth Osell. Karen graduated from Monticello High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with minors in Sociology and Anthropology from Gustavus Adolphus College. Karen's life work was in helping others. She touched many lives throughout her career as a licensed social worker, correctional officer, and probation officer. After retiring from Anoka County in 2017, she continued to make an impact on lives as a volunteer through Reading Corps, by mentoring others with diabetes, and as a volunteer at the humane society. Karen had a huge heart and was well-loved by everyone around her. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by many loving family members and friends.A celebration of life will be held at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel located at 250 Broadway St E, Monticello, MN 55362 at 2 pm on Friday, November 12th. There will be a visitation beginning at 1 pm.
