Kari Lynn MacDonald (Steen), age 58 of Big Lake, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 5, 2025. She was born in Sioux Falls, SD, on March 26, 1967.
Kari graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis in 1985. She furthered her education at Normandale Community College and Anoka-Ramsey Technical College. She was a dedicated worker with UPS for 36 years until her retirement.
Kari proudly served in the US Army for 8 years.
She enjoyed gardening and flowers, taking walks, skiing, and traveling. Kari adored her boys and was a wonderful mother!
Known for her unwavering compassion, Kari was a considerate and kindhearted person, always making time for others. She lived by faith and had a strong-willed personality.
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Steen; nephew, Calvin Steen; and grandparents, Joe and Minnie Kiedrowski, Carl and Orpha Steen.
Kari is survived by her sons, Alexander (Shanie) MacDonald, Landon MacDonald; mother, Yvonne Steen; siblings, Richard (Cheryl) Steen, Traci (Tony) Nieken; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Brandon (Cortney) Steen, Grace, Julia and Sophia Rondeau; special friend, Bruce Hanson; beloved fur baby, Cooper; and many other family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 5426 12th Ave S, Minneapolis, with Father Joah Ellis as Celebrant. A family burial will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
