Age 79, of Milaca Minnesota, went home with the King on December 21, 2019.
Kathleen was born to Arden and Martha Daniels of Monticello Minnesota, on September 4, 1940.
After graduating from Monticello, Kathleen married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Nelson, on April 4, 1958 at Langley Air Force base in Virginia. While in Virginia the couple had three daughters Debbie, Lori, and Linda.
The couple eventually moved back to the Monticello area, and had three additional daughters, Melanie, Kim, and Heidi.
In 1978, they moved to Staples Minnesota, and resided there until August of 2018. Kathleen was a dental receptionist, and was the friendly face at the dental office for over 18 years.
Kathleen devoted her life to showing others the path to Jesus. She joined Ken in MAPS, where the couple helped build many churches around the world.
Kathleen gave back to the community by volunteering at AARP, the Cancer center, The American Red Cross, and The Salvation Army. She also led the kids crafts at Lake Geneva, Christian Center.
Kathleen loved to bake and is best remembered for her homemade breads, buns, and pies. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, bird watching, scuba diving, puzzles, reading, traveling, fishing, spending time at the lake, and being with her pets.
Kathleen enjoyed being in Florida during the winter, where she was heavily involved in many Sky View Estate activities.
Kathleen’s passion was spending time with her family. She enjoyed her yearly outings which included time with her sisters, her nieces family reunion, and the Nelson family gathering with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her daughter, Lori; her siblings, Elwin, Elizabeth, Eva, Wilbur, Marie, Margie; her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Debbie Nelson, Linda Gold, Melanie Slaby, Kim Klein, and Heidi Meyer; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Eldon and James Daniels; sister, Elaine Peikert; other family and friends.
Kathleen’s life will live on forever in the lives of so many that she loved and touched.
Funeral service at 2:00PM on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 E Broadway, Monticello, with visitation starting at Noon.
