Kimberly Louise Flavin
Born November 6, 1956 – Virginia, Minnesota
Passed Away July 12, 2025 – Monticello, Minnesota
A longtime resident of Monticello, Minnesota, Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald “Jerry” and Patricia Flavin; and her siblings Gail, Mike, and Terrance Schnabel (Judy). She is survived by her siblings Lynn, Patrick, Dawn Bartch, and Jay; her children Brandon (Miranda), Sabrina (Art) Gutierrez, Tom Rand, and Patty Deichert (Tommy); her grandchildren Brandon “Little B,” Jade, Gavin, Monique Zegarra, Arthur and Allure Padilla, and Austin Rand; and her great-grandchildren Navina and Ilahn.
Kim loved playing BINGO with her friends and cards with her sisters. She had her routines and her favorite spots, and she was almost always the first to show up—sometimes way early—and just as often, the first to leave. She had a quiet confidence and a way of doing things that was entirely her own. Independent and true to herself, Kim left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
She had a soft spot for kids and was a fun and loving aunt. She loved to play, joke around, and fill a room with laughter. In many ways, Kim was a big kid at heart—she brought lightness and laughter to those around her.
Kim had a deep love for her children. Whatever the distance or circumstance, they were always in her heart. Her eyes lit up when she talked about them, and it was clear they were never far from her thoughts.
Kim passed peacefully, in the same quiet and determined way she lived. We didn’t get to say goodbye, but she left us with lasting lessons in strength, self-assurance, and love—gifts we’ll carry with us always.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Henry Catholic Church in Monticello on Friday, July 25th, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kim’s life.
