Larry Ervin Halvorson

Larry Ervin Halvorson, age 68 of Albertville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the Monticello Hospital. He was born April 21, 1955 in Virginia Beach, VA. 

On Thanksgiving morning of 1989, Larry Halvorson and Wanda Cadwell were united in marriage. 

Larry was a beloved school bus driver for Minneapolis Public Schools, receiving the award of bus driver of the year. He loved all the kids he drove for. Larry was great at pottery and cabinet making. He was an avid fisher and enjoyed his coffee, gum and newspaper. His colorful character and kind nature will dearly be missed. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Barbara (Frank) Halvorson; and sister, Rhonda DeJong. 

Larry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Wanda Halvorson; stepson, Christopher Otto and his daughter, Clover; siblings, Lynn (Dick) Knight, Johnny (Sandy) Halvorson, Diane Wilson; siblings-in-law, Linda (Tim) Cadwell, John (Debbie) Cadwell; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 with visitation 1 hour prior to service at the Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 E. Broadway Street, Monticello. Interment will be at a later date at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Wilson Township, MN. The family will meet at Space Aliens in Albertville, 11166 County Road 37 NE, Albertville, MN, directly after the service.
